Linocut Printmaking with Silver Solstice Prints

Dive into the art of linocut printmaking with this beginner-friendly workshop at Creatures of Whim. Led by Brenna Foley from Silver Solstice Prints, this workshop will cover the basics of linocut, from carving to printing.

Attendees will leave with their own hand-carved and hand-printed 5x7 inch linocut print. No experience is necessary - just bring an idea, some creativity, and a willingness to get your hands inky.

Please note: The process is relatively clean and all ink can be washed out of clothes, but you might want to wear something that can get messy just in case. We recommend bringing an idea or reference picture for a 4x6 inch design.

Meet the Artist

Brenna Foley is a self-taught printmaker based in Lexington, Kentucky. While she has loved art her whole life, she found printmaking in spring of 2020. She went on to found her printmaking studio, Silver Solstice Prints, in the fall of 2020. Since then, Brenna has developed her craft, specializing in black-and-white prints inspired by the magical and natural worlds. She has been holding linocut workshops in Lexington for over a year and loves sharing her craft with others.
